Site visit

Visit inside the uniquely designed generator

Discover the experimental power plant built in the 1980s, which has been shut down since 1993. It was the largest wind turbine of its time. You can see all the remnants, step inside its giant alternator, and understand how it works.

Exceptional immersive experience at the heart of wind energy

Le Nordais, Quebec's first wind farm, surrounds the Projet Éole site. Here, you'll have a breathtaking view of the 74 wind turbines and can see them up close, as well as the blades located on the site, to appreciate the sheer size of these great white dames.

Interpretation and presentations on wind energy

Self-explanatory panels and period archives on the history of Projet Éole and wind energy development will allow you to learn a great deal. Presentations are also given by our experienced guides to answer all your questions.

Panoramic belvedere at the foot of the tower

Our lookout allows you to admire the picturesque landscape of the Nordais wind farm, Cap-Chat, the sea, and the Chic-Choc Mountains, as well as get a closer look at the Éole Tower. A virtual reality headset with a view from the top of the tower is also available.

The gardens of Éole and the paths

Witness the coexistence of wind turbines and permaculture! The Projet Éole team has transformed part of this post-industrial site into a veritable Garden of Eden, and you can explore our trails to learn about edible northern species.

You can buy souvenirs of your trip, including local Gaspé crafts and unique Éole products. Snacks and drinks are also available on site.
